The picture above is a screenshot from a seminar on DVD production using Apple software and hardware. Apple contracted the seminar to help train their sales force on use of these technologies. It was produced using a product called cast:stream from Tarantelle, Inc. cast:stream provides real-time chat, Quicktime streming video support, synchronized slide presentations, polling, whiteboard support and other technologies used in distance learning and videoconferencing.
I was responsible for all technical aspects of the presentation, including management of the cast:stream server and encoding software, running the Globecaster Digital Video Switcher, running a Quicktime Streaming Server and two accompanying Quicktime Broadcaster stations and all audio reinforcement.
The sessions were a success and were later archived on the Apple intranet for on-demand viewing by employees.
